Dr. Fred van der Riet brings decades of medical experience and a passion for integrative health to Expand Health. After qualifying as a medical doctor from Stellenbosch University in 1974, he completed a Master’s in Family Medicine and ran private practices in Knysna and Bloemfontein. A transformative chapter in Canada exposed Dr. Fred to alternative approaches to health, inspiring his journey from conventional disease management to health promotion. Returning to South Africa in 1995, Dr. Fred expanded his expertise, completing training in medical acupuncture, homeopathy, and numerous programs through the Institute of Functional Medicine. For over 20 years, Dr. Fred and his wife, Marita, have worked together to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, helping individuals find health through embracing their uniqueness.
